Luke 22:63-71

Have you ever been told, or told someone else, “they hear what they
want to hear?”

What caused you to say that or caused that to be said about you?

Jesus answered their questions in truth. He assumed the role He’d
always had, the one Who sits on the throne, when He stated He’d be
sitting at the right hand of God. Rather than hearing the heart and truth
of what Jesus was saying, the elders could only hear their preconceived
notions of how wrong He was.

Their agenda was written in stone and nothing Jesus said would sway
them.

Have you ever refused to listen to what your Lord is teaching you
because it goes against your preconceptions? What occurred when you
realized you’d done this?

Today, pray for a sensitive spirit to the Lord’s teaching as He navigates
your own heart.
